Village Propane Heating Costs
Date:
Hi folks, Dave Parot has pursued pricing for our Village complex Propane heat cost.
Per the
As alternatives to lowering your heating cost, all the Associations on the mountain are investigating a propane coop, where the Assoc. buy the our buildings propane infrastructure from Blue Flame, there by allowing the Associations to negotiate a group bulk rate and solicit multiple vendors for pricing. There are many open questions with this approach and will not be coming to fruition any time soon. As an example Black Bear Inn is purchasing propane from Bournes at $2.33. We currently only have the option to purchase from Blue Flame, same as most of the Assoc. on the mountain.
Details of the propane coop initiatives are posted on the Village/Presidents web site and will be discussed at annual meeting this Saturday.

In regards to the Blue Flame propane pricing for Village
Condominiums, pls find below Blue Flame postal mailed
memo we received around
Prices have gone up $1.49 to $1.80, for folks with locked in pricing last year.
For future reference this information is posted to our Village Web site

Some Assoc. are reporting they have $1.51 locked in rate. There are several options including Propane Coop that show good potential in lowering our heating cost, however for Village, the board is unable to find resources for a committee to explore lower pricing for our owners, as we have done in past years.

Dear Valued Customer:
If you are receiving this letter it is due to the fact that you are on special pricing with Blue Flame Gas. Because of your excellent record with our company we have been more than happy to keep your price stabilized by keeping you at a fixed rate price. We are going to keep you on a fixed rate price schedule for the upcoming 2005-2006 heating season, however due to conditions beyond our control the price will be at a slightly higher rate.
The price of propane (our cost) has risen over $0.30 from the price a year ago. The market for petroleum prices is very unstable and the futures market is like a roller coaster ride. Anyone who drives a car and has watched gas prices skyrocket can certainly appreciate these concerns.
Our cost of operation has also gone up this year largely due to the fact that our delivery vehicles use diesel fuel to operate, and the cost of diesel fuel has risen over $0.70 in the past year. Also due to new laws our employees have to go thru special training and even finger printing at a large cost to us to comply with government programs such as the Patriot Act.
You have been locked in at the price of $1.49 per gallon for the past year. Due to increases to fuel and cost of operation we will need to raise your price to a rate of
$1.80 for the 2005-2006 season.
As with all special pricing, no other discounts apply. All accounts on special pricing need to remain current (paid within 30 days). Any account considered past due would revert to normal pricing.
Respectfully yours, Blue Flame Gas

Propane Coop:
We have been
attempting to drive the Bolton Valley Propane Coop concept with the Association
President council, but our initial reaction is, unless we pick up the task
ourselves its not going to happen any time soon.
Heating with Propane versus
Electric:
If you are
still heating with electric, we strongly recommend you contact Blue Flame at
802-244-1811 and get the Rinnae style heater installed in your unit; even for
weekenders this is a noticeable cost savings to heat your unit.

compare this to your electric bill and give Blue Flame a call.
