Subject: CHILI RECIPE
Kurt,
Dave forgot
to mention that we found a nice diner
right in Richmond for breakfast. They are open for breakfast,
lunch, and dinner. Of course, we
can't remember the name of it; but when you get into town, take a left at the light and the diner is on the right side
of the street. Their parking was
on the left side of the street by a
bakery.
Okay, I
promised you I'd email my chili recipe so
here goes:
1
Large garlic clove
(minced)
1
Large onion
(chopped)
1
Large green pepper
(chopped)
Fry above in
approximately 1 - 2 tablespoons of
olive oil for 5 minutes checking to make sure it doesn't burn.
Then add the
following to the
above:
1
Lb of Hamburg
2 -
3 Patties/links of HOT Italian or
HOT poultry sausage (I use the hot poultry sausage)
Salt and
pepper to taste.
Fry all the
above on medium high until red is gone.
I use a
crockpot to cook all the ingredients.
Add to
crockpot:
3
15oz cans Hormel Chili with Beans
3 15oz
cans Hormel HOT Chili with Beans
Add meat
mixture to crockpot
Add two
4oz cans of mushrooms to crockpot (optional)
Leave
crockpot on Hi until contents are heated
good, then turn to low and let cook until ready to eat.
Yell, if you
have any questions regarding the Chili.
Dave and I
are laying low today as the temperature
is pretty cold with the wind chill. I see where Burlington was -19
this morning..Hope you wore your long
johns to work.
Good Luck
with the recipe,
Ellie
